in the wind

.

i hang the damp
clean clothes on the line
drawn tight from house to garage
into a clothespin bag full of pins
my hand reaches and fingers
wrap around the the wooden
shape smooth all one piece
it slips over the shoulder of
a light blue cotton dress
and holds it to the coated wire
another pin captured from
between my lips
slips over the other shoulder
and the dress dances in the wind
like it did on me
last night

mere christianity . by csLewis

.
The last chapter.
Throughout this book, Lewis has been pointing
to Christ Jesus from many perspectives.  He has
taken us in a circle around Jesus while always
encouraging us to look at the center, Jesus, the
center of it all. He tells us that to live with Christ
is life within death, that we find ourself by simply
looking to Jesus, and that we are growing-up into
a child…a child that Loves God.
Sitting in the lap of the Lord.

the strategy of change

.

I need to do less reading online for my tired eyes.
Some of you may notice a drop in my total comments, especially on longer posts.
I am primarily on break from twitter until the end of the year.
I am also doing much less on FB.
It’s all a bit of a daily balancing act.
With less time online.
I have decided to do things that are easier on my eyes (and creative), such as painting and other works of art.
I like to journal and play here at “a little somethin’.”
I plan to continue to use this journal as my main sharing place.

As people and things change around me, and as i continually change, adjustments are made. I can always make plans and strategize, and realize that even these plans must be readjusted along the way. And i can be aware and creative, keeping an open heart in the Love of God.

Our God that does not change, is with us in our changes.

Love More?

.

How do we Love more? Do we need more Love? Where can we get more of this thing called Love? Does Love come from our own making? Is it assembled in a factory and shipped in airtight containers? Can we buy it from the local market, or is it sold at a special shop?  Does someone grow it? Where does Love come from?

mere christianity . post 2

After writing the last post about what Lewis had to say in a chapter of his book, Mere Christianity, i had a feeling of being in a place of knowing that i am not to judge others. But, what i did not say, is that knowing this only tells me just how much i need Jesus and the Holy Spirit in me.  I need God’s saving Grace.
I can’t go very long without thinking or speaking some kind of judgement about someone. Finding fault is part of my natural self. I need the Holy Spirit to speak to my heart about these things in a way that still leaves my heart open to Him. It is the Holy Spirit that speaks to and changes my heart in Love. It is that way with everyone. I don’t know if the Holy Spirit is going to work through those words or not. I am not even sure if i needed to write them.
But, anyway, more of what i got out of what Lewis wrote and my first post about it is:
I don’t know how the Holy Spirit works.
I need to listen to the Holy Spirit.
I need to obey Him.
And i know that i don’t do this very well, but, He does not give up on me.
And last, but, not least.
I am sure that i don’t need to tell other people what they are doing wrong,
as much as i just need allow God to use me in His Love.

mere christianity . by c.s.Lewis

In this chapter, Mr. Lewis is speaking about the fact that everyone needs to be saved.  People often try and judge the realness of Christ (as well as the realness of a person’s belief) by judging the natural gifts of certain people.  We can not see the heart and soul of anyone as God can see these things.
People have no spiritual basis for judging another person’s spiritual life.  It is in the gift of free will, for each person to be able to choose who they will believe and follow, and where they are in that belief and following.  This is one of the main places where all people can keep their pointing finger aimed at their own heart.
If you want to know the realness of Christ, look to and talk to Christ.
If you must judge a person’s realness of belief, look at your self.

If you are a believer in Jesus, the Son of God,
take a gander at  Matthew 7:1-3.

Putting your trust in God, not in man…
You can look it up in God’s Word and read about it at Bible Gateway.

the surface

.
the curtain has been torn
breaking the surface
we see our sinful self
our life
in the darkness
we know who we are
no need to hide
from the light
walk in the light
see our sinful nature
no need to hide
our ragamuffin self
no need to hide
our Love of God
our need
we shall not hide
for all our Love and
all Glory goes to our Savior
in Him
we are no longer lost
no longer apart
no longer alone
rise from beneath
shake the placid surface
feel the living water
know the pain and destruction
the anguish, and hurt
of this life
from it He was not spared
we know His Love is in all
no need to hide
take up your cross
and follow

the real thing

.

Loving God opens your heart to Him.
Love God.

Real Love starts with God.
And if our giving of love doesn’t start with loving God,
then it just makes everything a lot harder.

Thankfulness to God is part of Loving God.
Speak thankfulness to God throughout your day.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
