    Profound. The starkness of the scene in the photo is beautiful, yet kind of sad. It reminds me of all those pioneers who tried and lost as they established this country. (We just finished a section on John Fenimore Cooper and watched Hollywood's version of "The Last of the Mohicans." There is a scene where settlers have been killed by a Huron war party. The farm scene is desolate.)
