Growing up in the world means getting closer to the world.  Taking on a shell.  Understanding how dangerous the world is.
Replacing innocence and trust in people with something else.  Fitting-in becomes an intense desire, because we are born with
a need to be Loved to be accepted.

God wants us to grow up and grow close to Him.  Like a flower growing toward the sun.  Having faith is like the turing of
the earth to allow the sun’s rays to reach petals and leaves. The transformation is growth, in the way it was made to grow.

I esp. like the last 3 lines: “. . . like a flower growing towards the sun. Having faith is like the turning of the earth to allow the sun’s rays to reach petals and leaves. The transformation is growth, in the way it was meant to grow.” So much is packed in those words!

Allowing ourselves to be transformed by God’s grace and love truly is growth–the way God intended it to be.

I can’t stand having that intense desire to fit in with the world. I don’t fit, anywhere. I’d consider myself growing closer to God if that desire to fit in diminished down to nothing. Funny thing is, I think the times when I didn’t desire to fit in with the crowd are the times when I was most comfortable in the crowd, and more truly loving towards them.

Thanks, Val. I like the opportunities to continue to change and rearrange the art via computer.
