mind and heart

sometimes we treasure things within our heart.
when we think on something, it can easily go to the heart and take hold.
we can sit with something on the heart for many reasons.
yet, perhaps it is best to think on something that is good for our heart to hold onto.
something that will dwell there and make it’s way into our life,
and perhaps into the lives of those around you or me.

Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.   Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.  Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you.


The passage above is part of a letter from Paul to the group of believers in Philippi, while he was probably under house arrest in Rome (A.D. 61).

When i read words like…gentleness, the LORD is near, prayer, petition, rejoice, thanksgiving, present your requests to God… true, noble, right, pure, lovely admirable, excellent, praiseworthy, seen in me, heard from me… well, i think of GOD ( the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit).

I like the ‘idea’ of peace guarding my mind and heart.
And i ‘think’ that GOD gives us the best kind of dreams and ideas; that are sometimes to be treasured in our heart, and sometimes to be used and shared in reality.
