i only dream
of big city
sky scraped
into streets
of yellow cabs
flowing
swerving
honking
life on the
streets
red lights
green
keep moving
quickly
no parking
it’s
a loading
zone

jinksyit's my new york list :-)
It has been such a long time since I walked the City streets, but you have captured it so well Nance.
This creates such a vivid picture!
I can't help wishing you'd used more words to a line, so this doesn't look so much like a list. The layout adds nothing to your words as it stands…
Just imagine what it must have been like when the streets were clogged with horses and wagons and carriages.I can't imagine NYC without its cabs. It's amazing to see (when you take your hands off your eyes) how close the drivers get to one another's vehicles, and there's a reason there are straps with which to hang on for the ride.Fun poem. Makes me wish I were there now.
